The Colours of the Wild models are highly limited and available in the following sizes: Dryfly, Rapid, Runner, Speedrunner, and Strike.
The Opti Rapid is the consistent expansion of the legendary Opti series and fits seamlessly between the lighter DryFly and the powerful Runner. Developed for modern fly fishers who demand the highest performance from their gear – from delicate nymph fishing to battling powerful sea trout.
Weighing only around 200 g, the Rapid is ideal for single-handed rods in classes #5 to #8 and also provides the perfect counterbalance for long nymph rods over 11 ft., as well as light Trout Spey rods. Whether fine nymphing, powerful streamer fishing on river, lake or coast, or even light tropical fishing for bonefish and more – the Rapid impresses with high backing capacity, ultra-fast retrieval speed, and absolute braking reliability. Thanks to the internal spool width of 25 mm and LOOP’s exclusive Large-Arbor V-Design, the Rapid offers enormous line capacity. The generous spool diameter of 105 mm ensures fast line pickup, reduced memory, and total control even in tough battles with strong fish.
The heart of the reel is the proven, fully sealed Power Matrix Drag System. High-quality carbon discs deliver a silky-smooth yet powerful drag with zero start-up resistance – fully waterproof, saltwater resistant, and reliable for years. The large, grippy drag knob allows for fine adjustments and handles every run with confidence.
As with all Opti reels, LOOP has focused on uncompromising stability: The closed spool cage not only prevents leader tips from slipping out or line from getting stuck, but also ensures maximum torsional rigidity. Spool and frame are precision-machined from a single piece of aircraft aluminum, complemented by stainless steel parts and anodized components. All screws are additionally secured with Loctite – for longevity and absolute reliability.
