The performance of the drag system of the various Opti models has been customised to the respective requirements and areas of application of the reel size!
It is therefore understandable that the "Megaloop" drag system designed for saltwater and salmon fishing has to generate considerably more drag pressure than the "Opti-Creek" drag developed for sensitive trout fishing!
These maintenance-free large-core reels do not suffer from the "stick slip" effect, better known to many fly fishers as the unpleasant jerking of the drag when the line is pulled.
