Product information "Lamson Liquid S HD Heavy Duty Full Frame Pack Smoke - Fly Reel incl. 2 Spools and Bag"
The second generation of Lamson’s Liquid fly reels not only offers a visual update but also brings several other advantages: the Lamson Liquid S HD features a larger spool diameter and arbor than the popular previous model. This results in faster line retrieval and improved handling in practice. Additionally, the HD (Heavy Duty) model comes with a fully enclosed frame. The closed frame ensures both a solid construction and that thin monofilament lines—such as modern nymphing leaders or running lines—cannot slip out of the cage. A major benefit appreciated by many nymph anglers and streamer enthusiasts using shooting heads. The strength-to-weight ratio of the die-cast aluminum construction has also been improved, thanks to a completely redesigned spool and frame. The new spool shape has been entirely reworked to allow for cleaner line winding. The drag knob has also been slightly enlarged and its grip optimized. The Liquid S HD elevates the 'Liquid' name to a whole new level and represents a highly compelling update in every respect.
What remains unchanged is the fair price of the Liquid S HD, which continues to offer an affordable entry into Lamson’s premium reel line. It is the ideal companion for beginners and budget-conscious fly anglers! To maintain the attractive pricing of the Liquid series, Lamson imports the raw blanks of the reel and spool. The fit and contours of the blanks are CNC-machined at Waterworks in the USA, and the reel is then fully assembled. All parts required for the drag system are also made in the USA, assembled, and quality-checked. This results in an affordable quality product that sets standards in its price range and features a unique design. The proven sealed drag system performs flawlessly, ensuring smooth and consistent line release in critical situations. Lamson’s signature clicker prevents spool overrun at low drag settings and delivers a pleasant clicking sound in both directions.
The Liquid S HD Fly Reel Set includes two additional spare spools from the popular Liquid series and a spacious case. Particularly practical and economical when using multiple lines for one fish species and needing to switch quickly, or when fishing different rod weights with one reel. The Lamson Liquid S offers "Made in USA quality" at a very appealing price – a highly reliable quality fly reel for beginners and budget-conscious anglers!

About Lamson:
Waterworks is immediately associated by most fly fishermen with the lightweight, reliable reels. Yet the origin of Waterkworks lies in a small, innovative tool. In 1996, Waterworks was founded by two anglers and product designers because they found a better solution to remove the fly from the fish's mouth faster and more gently. Named after their hometown in Idaho, the first Waterworks product, the Ketchum Release Tool, was launched in 1996.
Even before Waterworks was founded, product designers were working with high-quality components. Ryan Harrison honed his skills and knowledge in high-performance cycling, for example. Among other things, Harrison developed suspension technology for Cannondale mountain bikes, so he was already familiar with wheels in the frame.
It was only logical that the founders turned to fly reels after the release tool. Because fly reels were heavy, overly complex and unreliable at the time, so there was work to be done here. With the question in mind of what the perfect fly reel looks like, the ULA was born and represents the foundation of today's high quality fly reels. Together with Lamson, the fly reels, rods and accessories, now enjoy more than two decades of passion, innovation and solid engineering - with no end in sight.
