Dry flies tied with CDC feathers are very effective - especially when targeting selective trout and grayling. At the same time these fine feathers are fragile and not known for keeping a fly on the surface drift after drift. Many fly fishers therefor add a bit of CDC oil or gel before presenting their fly.

Hends CDC Gel is a thick floatant made especially for CDC feathers - but can be used on other materials too. Just put a small drop on the tip of your finger and work it into the fibers carefully.
