These slotted tungsten beads from Hanak are the perfect complement to the Czechs' popular jig hooks. The special hole allows the bead to slide over the angled eye of the jig and the hook runs upside-down during the presentation. This method of tying reduces snags.
Compared to other materials (e.g. brass or lead), tungsten has several key advantages: Firstly, the weight is significantly higher than other metals for the same diameter. As a result, your nymph sinks faster towards the bottom and smaller hook sizes can be fished. A big plus point on heavily frequented waters!
