Product information "Guideline NT11 Saline single-handed fly rod"
Guideline's NT11 fly rods are the result of utilising the latest and most sophisticated high-tech graphite materials used in the aerospace industry today. When applied to fly rods, the benefits are remarkable. The most obvious effect is an amazing recovery power and crispness in the blanks created by combining the incredible armour and strength enhancing effect of T1100G graphite with layers of the highest modulus graphite ever used in a fly rod. For you, the angler, the above features are built into a series of rods that have the lowest blank weight but the highest breaking strength of any rod in the Guideline range and probably the entire fly rod market.
NT11 Saline
As part of the large NT11 product family, the NT11 Saline fly rods are specifically designed for dedicated inshore or tropical anglers who demand the best. With fantastic casting power yet silky smooth rod action, these rods will cover all species that swim in our oceans and coastal waters worldwide. Just like the other NT11 rods, the Saline models are made from the highest modulus carbon fibre yet, along with the extremely durable and strong T1100 carbon fibre. The rod range follows a very distinct action type, but each model is finely tuned to be the best in the particular fishing situation. They have an extremely fast reset speed with a very comfortable flexibility in the middle and upper part of the blank. This makes all NT11 Saline fly rods easy to cast! With the highest precision, without being tiring or difficult to handle. The range consists of models from #6 to the special #14 rod and covers everything from sea trout and bonefish to pike, tarpon and even tuna! The team at Guideline have worked hard and deliberately to maximise the value of these rods without compromising quality in workmanship or components.
An absolute high-end rod from Guideline that will delight discerning inshore, predator and tropical anglers! Equipped with the best components on the market and with a classy finish that can be seen both in Caribbean saltwater and in our local waters!
Our recommendations:
- NT11 Saline 9 ft. #6: This rod is designed for serious inshore anglers like you who are looking for top performance. Featuring innovative T1100 material, it offers an incredibly lightweight construction while providing the power needed to handle windy inshore conditions. It maintains the finesse you'd expect from a #6 line class rod. Although primarily intended for sea trout hunting and classic streamer fishing, it is also suitable for tropical fishing to catch species like bonefish on the flats.
- NT11 Saline 9 ft. #7 : One of the most versatile rods in the series, this rod shares the exceptional rod action of the #6 model, combining the feel of an extremely light rod with impressive power and retrieve speed. Thanks to the T1100 material, it once again strikes a balance between finesse and power. This rod is suitable for a variety of fishing scenarios, from inshore fishing for sea trout and sea bass to the pursuit of larger bonefish in shallow waters. It will probably become your favourite rod for this type of fishing!
- NT11 Saline 9 ft. #8: If you're heading to tropical waters, you should take this rod with you. Its super light design allows you to cast all day with a #8 line without getting tired. The rod has remarkable potential and allows you to generate the necessary power to cope with strong winds. Despite its lightness, it offers excellent response and recovery, providing a comfortable and smooth experience comparable to lighter rods. Although designed primarily for tropical fishing for bonefish, smaller permit and other fast swimming species, it can also be used on windy days inshore when you're targeting sea trout or bass.
- NT11 Saline 9ft. #9: Many anglers consider the 9ft #9 fly rod to be the all-rounder for flats fishing. It is the standard choice for permit and baby tarpon, but thanks to its strong backbone it also shows its strength on the bonefish flats on the seashore, especially when the wind picks up and you still have to prevail against the strong nor-wester. It is also an excellent all-round rod for species such as Peacock Bass or Golden Dorado, where long days on the water are often required and a light, responsive rod is indispensable. Although it was primarily developed for tropical areas, it is also great fun to use at home, for example when pike fishing, where large flies need to be presented precisely.
- NT11 Saline 9 ft. #10: This rod is capable of handling virtually any situation you might encounter in tropical waters. It has the power to cast large and heavy flies with ease. It will be your best companion when pursuing large permit, jacks, medium sized tarpon and smaller trevally. With its fast action and perfectly balanced bend, you can quickly pick up the line from the water to reposition your cast when the fish moves. The T1100 material really shines in these higher line classes, offering an extremely powerful but lightweight rod. It's an excellent choice for serious predator anglers, whether you're targeting big pike or tropical giants.
- NT11 Saline 9ft. #11: For those looking for a particularly robust rod that still feels light and balanced in the hand, this model is the ideal choice. There's a reason why tarpon guides in the Florida Keys often go for the #11: it offers more precision, more sensitivity and is perfect for tempting even the most cautious big fish in the ocean to bite. When the fish hooks up, however, you need plenty of pulling power - and this is where the strength and power of the T1100 material really comes into its own.
- NT11 Saline 9 ft. #12: Without a doubt, this is the rod you need if you're fishing for big predators from a boat in warmer waters. It shares all the features of the other models and has exceptional power to handle big tarpon and giant trevally with ease. Designed to never run out of power during battles with these monster fish, it still offers a great feel when casting and using on long days.
- NT11 Saline 8.6 ft. #14: This high spec rod is designed to handle the toughest and heaviest species in the vast ocean. Although it doesn't offer the same casting finesse as other models, its main focus is to deliver the power necessary to emerge victorious in encounters with massive tuna, sharks, sailfish or marlin. The handle configuration also differs from the other models; with the #14 line class, you get a bluewater-style handle made from Korkers, with the top handle measuring 265mm in length.
C.A.P T1100 Technology:
The ultimate goal in fly rod design is to build a strong blank while making it extremely light. With a standard manufacturing process, however, there is a risk that a rod will break too easily if it is light and thin-walled. It also often becomes too heavy if it is built too strong. The characteristics and performance of Guideline NT11 rods are therefore difficult to imitate, as the Norwegian specialists use the best materials available together with the best available manufacturing and reinforcement technologies to achieve an ideal structure in the blanks.
All NT11 rods utilise an ultra-elastic 46T Low Resin material which enables the creation of feather-light blanks with a crisp feel that significantly improves sensitivity. Layers of T1100 graphite with extremely high tensile and compressive strength are added to both the inside and outside of the 46T material, creating an incredibly strong foundation for unrivalled blank performance, durability and reliability. In addition, Guideline uses a carbon scrim material with a proprietary CAP (Complex Axial Pattern) with 0, 45, 90 and -45 degree, cross construction structure. This results in a lightning-fast recovery speed, increases the casting distance and improves the compressive strength. High-strength graphite reinforced with TORAYCA NANOALLOY® resin improves durability and increases the life of the rods.
The special nano-material of these rods prevents damage caused by external shocks, internal stresses or fatigue, as the blank bends and relieves itself repeatedly during casting and fighting.
In short, the material properties of Guideline NT11 blanks can be described in these simple words. Extreme durability, low weight and exceptional recovery speed.
