As its name suggests, this floating line from Guideline is a first-class fly line for fishing stillwaters. With a taper based on Guideline's successful 4Cast, the Reach Stillwater is an ideal choice for reservoirs and lakes where long (roll) casts are required.
With a club length of 10.6 m (#4) to 11.8 m (#8), its modern taper is slightly longer than many current fly lines for streams or rivers, which significantly increases the maximum casting distance. In addition, the line construction allows controlled empty casts to serve the fly at exactly the right moment - a huge advantage over compact WF lines. Of course, this also applies to fishing at close range, so that their relatively long front taper allows sensitive presentations at all distances.
