Flashwing flies have been the talk of the town for a few years now. The sparkling flash flies have proven their catchability thousands of times over, and not just at the start of the season for fresh salmon. These fly patterns originated in Scandinavia, but were soon to be found in salmon boxes all over the world.

The SSS Flash Wing Flash from Frödin is the optimum material for creating catchy flashwing flies. It was developed to achieve volume and movement without the use of real hair fibres. The flash consists of predominantly 'crinkle' fibres in unique colour blends, which ensure that the flash does not tangle, but moves lifelike without falling apart. The material works particularly well in combination with the proven TTT and BTT tubes and a synthetic underwing to increase buoyancy and vibration and support the soft fibres underwater. This design offers greater volume than the conventional SSS Flash. We usually combine two colours for the wing, with the darker colour on top. The extensive colour spectrum ensures that a variety of different patterns can be tied to cover a wide range of conditions. In addition, the broad range of colours makes the fly really shimmer and gives it a lively, lifelike appearance in the water.
