They can be perfectly connected with adh-fishing 2mm Tubes, are very easy to work with, and lead to stunning results. The tapered nose leads to less build up at the head, which makes tying small and neat heads much easier. Due to the increasing diameter, they offer much more weight compared to ordinary aluminum tubes of the same length, resulting in very compact bodied flies. Furthermore, the tapered shape leads to an ideal weight distribution and a perfect presentation while swinging.
In fact, this ribbed version is an ideal base for building up tapered bodies, cause it offers great hold for added material. Additionally, the "End Ring Version" prevents your thread from slipping off the tube while tying. However, according to the tied pattern, the variant without an end ring might be the right choice. Combined with the ideal silicone tube an unbeatable tube system is created, which will hold your hook in perfect position.
