Synthetic Pike Hair is not just another one of many synthetic hair materials, it is a fantastic addition to the tying table when it comes to tying predator flies. The texture of the material is perfect for portioning it sparingly but giving the fly considerable volume at the same time. While it absorbs absolutely no water, even huge pike flies are easy to cast. The long fibers are not too stiff, so they play seductively underwater, but still keep their shape when trimmed shorter. The material is great to achieve a natural taper of the flies and makes creating realistic baitfish imitations a breeze. The wide color palette makes it possible to imitate just about any bait or juvenile fish, whether in fresh or salt water, and thanks to the incredible length of 60 cm (!) you can virtually tie flies of any size with this material. Because although the name might suggest otherwise, this synthetic hair can be used for much more than "just" pike flies. From smaller perch flies, over huge pike tubes, to GT patterns…not a problem. The material is extremely robust and withstands the many sharp teeth of relevant predators with ease. An absolute all-round material at a fair price and a definite recommendation from our side.
