A great addition to the successful UV2 series from Hareline: The Flat Wing Saddles UV2. An excellent natural material for tying streamers, saltwater flies and wet flies. The soft feathers are very suitable for wings or tails and can of course also be wrapped around the hook shank as a hackle. The saddles are approx. 30 cm long and the feathers measure between 10 and 20 cm. The individual fibres are approx. 1-2 cm long.
In addition to the excellent action of the feathers in the water, these Flat Wing Saddles are characterised by the patented dyeing process 'Ultravision UV2'. This special double dyeing process ensures better visibility and gives the material the additional UVF/UVR ultraviolet wavelengths. UVF is the UV fluorescence. It is basically found on all materials. Lighter colours have a stronger UVF effect on the human eye and darker colours a weaker one. UVR, on the other hand, is the UV reflectance. This is a spectrum of wavelengths that humans cannot perceive, but which are very common in the animal world. This means that with this material you can give your pattern an additional touch. In short: a very attractive tying material in best Hareline quality!
