Spawn's 90° Jig Shanks

In recent years, Articulated Flies have become a real triumph due to their unique mobility. When fishing for pike, brown trout, perch, sea trout and many other species, fly patterns with a body made of several links are now part of the absolute standard repertoire and should not be missing from any fly box. At the tying table, Articulated Shanks allow you to be incredibly creative and offer completely new possibilities. By combining shanks of different lengths, you can create very flexible streamers that have an extremely seductive swimming behaviour - for example, variations of the popular "Game Changer".

The 90° Jig Shanks from Spawns are for the head of the fly, the 90° shank should be the first shank in the row. The shape of the angle makes it extremely easy to weight the fly correctly so that a straight run of the fly is ensured and that even up side down. Meaning less hang-ups and optimal guidance even just above or even on the bottom.

Application: Application: First tie the rear part of your streamer on a normal hook (e.g. Partridge Universal Predator). Then thread the hook into the open part of the Articulated Shank, tighten it at the eye and put a tight ground wrap over the shank. Depending on the size of the fly, more shanks can be connected to each other. Finally, the 90 degree shank on which the head is tied. As a weighting can be used, for example, large Dumbbell Eyes, so an optimal weighting is guaranteed thanks to the 90 degrees and the fly moves perfectly in the water.
