Deer hair is a classic natural tying material and is mostly used for dry flies - e.g. as a wing or for shaping a nice body (e.g. Goddard Caddis or Extended Body Mayfly). For the famous Muddler this hair is a must-have. It can be shaped by using a razor blade or sharp scissors.
