Vision Onki Single-Handed Fly Rod
lsquo;Onki’ means ‘Rod and Line’ in Finnish. We didn’t know that, did you!? One thing we do know is that Vision’s Onki rod is a true winner when it comes to the price to performance ratio. Right from the start, we were amazed by Onki’s high-quality components, its low swing weight and casting performance!
Antti Guttorm, the Onki’s product developer, and his colleagues created 11 medium-fast rod models to cover most of the situations anglers face when fishing for typical freshwater species on creeks, rivers and on various stillwater/reservoir waters. Shorter, very sensitive rods to fish with tiny dries to long and filigree sticks for modern nymphing techniques and powerful casting machines for long double hauls - the Onki series covers it all!
Based on Vision’s history of true classics like the 3Zone and the Nite/Nite Catapult, these four-piece, Korean made, high-quality rods have green olive blanks with graphite grey markings. The quality of high-modulus Korean graphite (40 tn) is something you normally find only in more expensive rods. It enabled Vision to create a very light and sensitive rod. The rest of the components are of great quality as well. For example, the grips have narrow rubber/cork reinforcements to make them more durable.
