With the Ultralite Sintrix NSX, the traditional English brand Hardy presents a successor to the popular Ultralite Sintrix 440. And once again the rod developers from Alnwick have succeeded in more than meeting the needs of the most demanding fly fishermen and designing a true dream for trout and grayling fishing. In direct comparison to their predecessors - which have already inspired us - the Ultralite Sintrix NSX single-handed rods are even lighter, more responsive, more sensitive and can be controlled even better during casting and presentation. The Ultralite LL perfectly complements this series with the right models for ultra-fine nymphing and technical dry fly fishing.
The previous rods were already amongst our absolute favorites for delicate and particularly gentle dry fly presentation with fine leaders. The Ultralite LL goes even one step further and perfectly meets the special needs of the modern nymphfisher. The ultra-light models in overlength have been perfectly adapted by their action to the requirements of modern nymphing techniques. The extremely fine rod tip transfers every contact via the reactive blank into the handle and makes it possible to detect even the slightest of bites. The recovery speed of the fast rod blanks is even better and simply impressive! The new Ultralite LL perfectly combines performance, fineness and a flawless design. Not only as a nymphing rod, but also as the finest presentation tool for technical dry fly fishing with light flying lines, the rod has convinced us throughout. The entire LL series includes well thought-out models ranging from the lightest fishing with thin leaders and barely weighted nymphs for timid grayling, to the powerful rod for larger flowing waters, to target big trout or barbel in deep channels.
In short: The Hardy Ultralite LL Sintrix NSX surely plays in the top league within its niche and belongs without doubt to the absolute top class. An ultra-light fly rod that is a real winner and convinces with casting performance, noble components and the highest quality workmanship. The modern, wedge-shaped reel seat fits into the modern overall picture as well as the maroon blank with the neatly laid decorative windings and the high-quality titanium rings with ceramic coating. The shorter models (9.2 ft. and 9.9 ft.) come with a smart up-locking reel seat with laser engraving, while on the longer models (10.2 ft. and longer) a perfect balance of the rod is ensured by a down-locking reel seat and discreet fighting butt. The guide ring sits closer to the handle for even better line control, and the snake rings in front of the tip ring prevent line catching around the blank.
About Sintrix NSX:
Hardy's Sintrix NSX fly rods combine the established Sintrix 440 technology with a secondary nano charged material that retains the core properties of the proven carbon fiber, while improving the feel, resilience and balance of the blank in the hand without relying on the increased stiffness of the high modulus material. Sintrix NSX allows additional weight savings without sacrificing stability. The result is rod blanks that allow the caster to feel the cast better and thus optimize control.
