Douglas Sky G-Series Euronymph Single Handed Fly Rod

The award-winning Sky G-Series is a modern fly rod of exceptional quality and the flagship of the Douglas rod family. In this rod series, state-of-the-art technology is employed in the pursuit of achieving the perfection of a fly rod. With these 10 ft. models in classes #2-4, Douglas expands its successful series with three top-notch rods designed for modern nymph fishing. The American manufacturer relies on the same proven blank technology that has repeatedly earned them the pole position in various fly rod shoot-outs.

The matte platinum blank of the G-Series is crafted based on G-Tec graphite technology and has impressed us, particularly with its remarkable recovery speed. The advantages of graphene (extremely lightweight with maximum durability) are perfectly incorporated into this rod model. What stood out positively during the initial casts is the combination of speed and sensitivity. The swing weight of the Douglas Sky G-Series is incredibly low, allowing you to cast effortlessly all day long. The synergy of low weight and sensitivity, especially in the fine tip of the rod, is particularly beneficial in modern Euro-Nymphing techniques. The award-winning casting characteristics of the rod are retained, making these models especially intriguing for dry fly anglers as well. This rod enables you to effortlessly control larger amounts of line in the air or execute precise roll casts. The perfect tool when you want to present small flies with utmost delicacy!

The blank is wonderfully lightweight and casts superbly over all distances, allowing precise detection of nymph bites and enabling you to fish for hours with your arm raised, thanks to its light weight. The rod provides excellent damping during the fight and remarkable recovery speed. The innovative components of the Sky G-Series include REC Titanium Cerecoil rings with zirconia inserts, REC Titanium guides, a AAAA Flor cork grip, a skeletonized aluminum reel seat with elegant black wood inlays, and a small fighting butt that balances the long blank wonderfully and comfortably rests on the arm during nymph fishing.

In short: a high-end fly rod made of ultra-lightweight graphene with the best components found in modern rod-building art. Ideal for modern nymph fishing and delicate dry fly fishing.
