As with all new Norwegian kits, Guideline also uses a blank construction with a reduced resin construction on the Epik Pike fly rod, which makes for a faster action, greater recovery speeds, and more sensitivity. Also, the swing weight of the 9ft long Epik Pike in class #9 is pleasantly light so that long sessions of casting voluminous Pike streamers is no problem! With the strong action of the Epik Pike rod, large streamers can be lifted off the water and, in combination with the Guideline Custom WFF string, can be cast with ease!
The reel of the Epik Pike Set is a Guideline FAVO 79, which is based on the original design of the popular Guideline reels. However, by using modern die-cast aluminum technology in combination with a CNC finish, the FAVO saves weight. The reel is equipped with a strong yet smooth drag with a comfortable handle. Thus, this kit is well equipped for trophy Pike and can cope with even stronger opponents as well. The set comes with a durable rod/reel bag as well, where the rod can be safely stored with the reel mounted.
