Nam Original Trout Spey Fly Rod Delgado 6pcs

Behind the fly rods of NAM are well-known figures in the fly fishing scene from Scandinavia: Marcus Bohlin, Johan Söderberg, and Mikael Andersson (Mr. "Banana Fly"). It's no wonder that these rods were developed 100% for practical use and excel in all aspects. Fresh design ideas at NAM are combined with state-of-the-art rod building technologies and innovative carbon fiber materials. When manufacturing the blanks in South Korea, graphene crystals are used for the first time, which have a very special structure, making them extremely robust and lightweight. The result of this exclusive material blend is rods that impress with their low swing weight. You can feel it from the very first meter of line you cast.

These 6-piece Trout Spey rods from NAM were specifically designed for ultra-light two-handed fishing on trout streams and rivers. This type of fishing and its casting technique are not only incredibly fun but also open up entirely new dimensions and presentation possibilities. NAM has also opted for a practical 6-piece design in these models, ensuring a compact and travel-friendly pack size. These rods shine not only on trout waters but are also great for light grilse or sea trout fishing. Whether you're in Scandinavia, Iceland, or Canada, these lightweight Spey rods are a handy addition to your travel gear. And as we've come to expect from popular two-handed rods, the 6-piece configuration is in no way inferior to its 4-piece counterparts in terms of performance and quality!

With this extension of the NAM two-handed rod series, just like with the larger siblings, top-notch components and flawless craftsmanship were prioritized. But what is particularly impressive is the action of the rod. Whether with a fine integrated Scandi line or a compact Skagit shooting head, the rod offers a wide range of applications and combinations with various types of lines, covering everything from dry flies or small soft hackle patterns to weighted streamers on sink-tip lines. Overall, the rods have a medium-fast action, allowing also beginners to quickly develop a feel for the new casting style.

The slim blanks made of modern carbon fiber combined with graphene are presented in a matte black finish. Paired with subtle gray thread wraps, this creates a timeless look. Compared to the first generation of NAM rods, the cork handle is even higher quality and fits perfectly in the hand. The black-anodized aluminum reel seat and the noble spacer made of high-quality burl wood also complement the overall picture, as do the very durable snake guides coated with titanium nitride.

The 6-piece two-handed rods from NAM unquestionably belong to the absolute top class and were developed from start to finish by true salmonid professionals. All models impress with their high functionality and will impress demanding single and two-handed casters with their low swing weight and power.

A few words about the new "Delgado" cork:

Literally translated, "Delgado" means thin/slim. The name not only applies to the new rod handles but also describes how the bark of cork trees grows. The thin and very dense bark of Delgado trees grows very slowly and is therefore much rarer than that of other cork trees with thicker bark.

Advantages of Delgado cork:

  • Smallest pores, so there is hardly any need for additional filling materials.
  • So stable that no rubberized ends on the handles are necessary, saving weight.
  • The slow growth of the trees results in very high cork density, allowing the vibrations of the blank to be transferred directly to your hand through the cork, making you one with the rod blank.

Sustainability with Delgado Cork:

The bark of Delgado trees regenerates every 9 years, making it 100% sustainable. But it's not just renewable; cork harvesting also has a positive side effect for the tree. Harvesting promotes the exchange of CO2 and O2 and has been shown to extend the lifespan of the trees. A win-win for us and the environment! The adhesive used is free from solvents or aggressive chemicals and is 100% environmentally friendly.
