Product information "G.Loomis IMX-Pro Short Spey Double Handed Rod"
The IMX Pro series offers an attractive entry into the world of G.Loomis. These rods have been developed based on the years of expertise of American guides for daily use in freshwater and are characterised by a balance of flawless workmanship and extreme durability.
The IMX Pro Short Spey series from G.Loomis expands the repertoire of the modern two-handed angler. These shorter two-handed rods are the perfect tool for effectively casting the short shooting head systems that are so popular these days. You will be able to present your fly effortlessly in challenging conditions and demanding situations. For this rod series, steelhead guru Tom Larimer and casting expert (and casting world champion) Steve Rajeff have combined all their expertise and experience. The action of the IMX Pro Short Spey rods is tuned to the characteristics of short shooting heads and with a length of 11.11 ft. (approx. 3.38 m) you are able to control your fly precisely in the swing and make clean casts even with little space. The progressive bend curve and medium fast action of these rods are combined with impressive power reserves to allow you to deliver heavy sink tips with ease. These rods offer a huge fun factor and rival the performance of your longer spey rods!
The blank is finished in a dark olive green with dark green decorative wraps. The handle feels great in the hand and the quality of the cork is very convincing. Darker composite cork rings are used on ends of the short spey handle for better durability. The ringing starts with a SIC guide ring, followed by hard chrome plated insert rings that are precisely aligned and cleanly finished.
IMX Pro Short Spey fly rods are made with the new ConduitCore technology from G.Loomis and the proven Multi Taper design. This has replaced graphite wraps with new material to reduce weight and increase strength in the right places. The result is a compelling blend of strength, durability and a comfortable weight.
In the lower line classes, the IMX Pro Short Spey covers delicate two-handed fishing for trout and sea trout in the river. And with the more powerful models, you'll be able to take on full-grown steelhead and salmon on small and medium-sized rivers with ease. In short, if you're looking for an entry into the two-handed world of G.Loomis and like to fish with short shooting heads, the IMX Pro Short Spey is a great choice for you!
