These affordable reels are the ideal complement to Hero single-handed rods - but fit on other fly rods as well due to their chic design, which is based on the much more expensive XO reels.
Vision Hero fly reels have a silky smooth but powerful disc brake, consisting of a total of five discs made of carbon and stainless steel. The spool of the has a simple and quick screw cap and can be easily converted to right-handed operation if necessary. The weight of the Hero Nymph & Dry fly reels is matched to Vision's Trout rods of the same name in line classes #3 to #5 and also confidently balances the longer blanks of the Hero nymph rods. This reel series feels right at home on streams and rivers and will take a WF4F fly line with plenty of backing. The non-slip EVA knob provides a very good grip even in wet conditions and allows the line to be reeled in in a controlled manner. The CNC-machined die-cast frame is extremely robust and durable. And this series has one more special feature to offer: A closed frane! The full frame design prevents that thin leaders can be trapped between frame and spool. A features, that is not found in any other reel with that price!
Rarely has there been a reel series in this price range that appealed to us so immediately. Real price-performance winners that provide a perfect introduction to the world of fly fishing - but also convince advanced anglers. By the way, you don't need to wear a cape when you take to the water with a Hero fly reel. A pair of waders is perfectly sufficient.
