Shilton CK Series Fly Reel titanium

Shilton products have been on the market for over two decades! During this time, the thoughtful reels have not only enriched the experiences of many anglers on the water and given them confidence during their adventures, they have also been constantly improved over the years. The origin of these reels: South Africa. A diverse country where fine trout fishing is just a stone's throw away from action-packed saltwater fishing. In between: Bass, Yellowfish, Tigerfish and Co. And as diverse as their origin is the range of applications for these reels. Whether small trout or giant GT, one thing in particular is important to the manufacturer when it comes to their fly reels: reliable performance, no matter what. The company's credo: "We Stop Fish" - and Shilton has also set this goal for the very fastest and most combative fish of these seas. It's not without reason that some of the most prestigious saltwater lodges rely on the uncompromising performance of Shilton reels.

Shilton CK Fly Reel:
The popular Shilton CK fly reel is positioned right between Shilton's CL and CR models. The medium spool diameter strikes a perfect balance between high line capacity and a fast retrieve speed, and is therefore particularly interesting for fly anglers who want to play it safe in terms of backing capacity. But safety is offered especially by the completely sealed, powerful carbon drag system, which not only runs silky smooth, but can be adjusted from almost open to completely locked via the ergonomic knob. The braking force is generated by the friction of carbon on stainless steel discs, which is extremely low maintenance and wear. In addition, this design allows a very smooth start-up inertia of the drag resistance without jerking or unintentional "spinning" of the spool. Perfect, therefore, if you have to rely 100% on the set drag force when fishing with thin leaders. This is also helped by the clicking drag knob, which always provides constant settings in the respective position. The spectrum of the drag, i.e. minimum and maximum resistance, can also be changed manually and perfectly adapted to the respective field of application. The entire reel and spool were milled from the full block 6082 T6 aluminum of the best quality, the filigree ventilation not only looks very chic, but also reduces the overall weight of the reel. The Type II anodizing ensures the very best protection against external influences, such as shocks or weather.

Although the CK fly reel is part of Shilton's freshwater range, it can also be used in saltwater without hesitation thanks to corrosion-resistant components and the completely sealed drag system. So, a very interesting reel also for all sea trout hunters and fans of light fly fishing in the tropics.
