A automatic fly reel like the JMC Yoto Fly Reel manages to spool up several meters of fly line or monofilament line in seconds and that only with the rod hand! By simply operating the lever, the spool is accelerated and cranks up so a few meters of fly line, with only a few lever pulls it succeeds one so, 15 meters or more, lightning fast to spool up. This has a particular advantage when nymph fishing, if you want to prevent the fine mono line from getting caught in the river. A quick pull of the lever while fishing is all that is needed and the excess line is spooled up to the reel. When fishing with a normal fly line, however, a semi-automatic reel pays off equally. For example, on heavily overgrown streams where you often have to get out of the water and climb a few feet back into the water. Simply accelerate the spool three to four times before wading out and the complete fly line is spooled up!
The Yoto fly reel was milled from an aluminum and is therefore stable and yet light. Equipped inside the Yoto is with a Teflon micrometer brake and a fast spool acceleration by lever force. The finish of the fly reel is a black anodized finish, which enhances the appearance and hardness of the surface. Always protected is the fly reel in a neoprene bag, which is included.
