Hardy has already defined a new standard for cassette systems a few years ago, but with the UltraDisc Cassette the bar is set a good deal higher. Based on the latest Ultradisc fly reel, the Ultradisc cassette reel comes in a completely new, complex frame design: light, elegant and functional! Machined from block aluminum, this design reduces weight while guaranteeing incredible structural integrity. With the new Line-Guard design, nymph fishermen and shooting head enthusiasts in particular can look forward to a practical interchangeable spool system, as this sophisticated frame design is completely enclosed. No running line or thin nymphing leader, no matter how thin, can slip through. In addition, this improves the line guide, so that the line lies better on the spool.
Inside the reel hides a powerful full-disc drag, which brings a braking force of max. 1.8 kg on the scale via robust drag discs made of rulon. The infinitely adjustable resistance can be perfectly adapted to the fighting force and leader strength, runs buttery smooth and is therefore also perfectly suited for fishing with very thin leaders.
The popular CLS locking system is of course also used in the UltraDisc Cassette. It allows a super fast spool change and guarantees that the spool is always securely engaged and firmly seated in the frame. The sturdy change spools made of robust polycarbonate in a large-arbor design allow a fast retrieval speed of the line and reduce the memory effect after prolonged storage.
