Product information "Rio DirectCore Flats Pro 15´Clear Tip Intermediate Saltwater Fly Line"
When the fish of the tropical flats play to their strengths, you should know how to counter them. The increased metabolism of tropical fish species provides us with incredibly strong and agile opponents that require perfectly coordinated fishing tackle. With the Rio Flats Pro, bonefish, permit, tarpon and the like can be "put on the line" with care. The club has a medium length and an extra-long rear taper to enable fast and precise casts to be made sensitively and without great effort. Because in the flats, you sometimes have to make exactly THE one cast! This is also a big plus point when targeting pulling tarpon - e.g. with light EP streamers or classic patterns such as the Black Death made from rabbit fur. The four colours of the line - RIO's SureFire technology - also help immensely with all of this. This means you always find the right point to shoot the line and can be sure not to choose the ONE important cast on the moving target too long or too short.
The Directcore Flats Pro 15' Intermediate has, as its name suggests, a 15' (4.5 m) long intermediate tip, which is perfect for offering the fly or streamer in the deeper areas of the flats. The translucent material of the tip also has a stealth function, so there is virtually no scaring effect.
Rio technologies:
- DirectCore: This line comes with a DirectCore core, which has 30% less stretch than most other saltwater lines. Compared to conventional monofilament cores, it is also 25% stronger. As their coating is stiffer, DirectCore lines cut through the wind even better, have hardly any memory and lay clean and stretched. At the same time, bites can be felt much better and faster, retrieves are more effective and line control in the cast and on the water is improved.
- XS (Extreme Slickness): Smooth lines have many advantages, for example less frictional resistance in the rings, less dirt on the surface and less wear. In short: more casts - permanently! The latest generation of lines is equipped with Rio's exclusive XS technology and therefore offers a particularly smooth coating, which we fly fishermen really appreciate.
- AgentX: The coating is made up of two layers, enabling a perfect combination of extreme buoyancy and a smooth, resistant surface.
