In cold weather situations lots of ordinary fly lines get very stiff and show a strong memory effect. Annoying! Especially, when you want to shoot the line against the horizon – e.g. when fishing for sea on a cold autumn or spring day or when chasing pike in the wintertime. With the Orivis Hydros Coldwater Intermediate you don't have to worry about that. No need to stretch runningline and belly all the time. Even in low temperature scenarios the soft coating stays flexible!
The main weight of the belly is concentrated in the front of the 10,9 m head. As a result, the Orvis Hydros Coldwater Intermediate acts nearly like a shooting head. Casting weighted, bulky flies is no problem at all. Even a strong wind can't stop you from shooting it on distance. Also, because this fly line is nearly one class overweight. Due to the ideal sinkrate of 2,5cm up to 5cm per second you constantly fish 'under the waves' – where the fish feed. The line's core has less stretch, which supports giving life to the fly as well as setting the hook instantly.
The belly comes in a milky-blue, whereas the runningline is blue. This two tone concept helps you to find the perfect point to shoot the line. The main info about the line are put on the welded front loop (Orvis Line ID). This helps you keeping your reel case organized :)
