Cortland Indicator Fly Line Floating

The Cortland Indicator from the popular Trout Series from Cortland was developed to perfectly cover the many facets of nymph fishing. When designing the line, certain properties were especially in the focus: The line should be powerful, have good turn-over properties to carry heavier nymph rigs, be precise in the cast, as well as easily visible and easy to control, even at long distances.

The taper was designed to compress a lot of weight in the front part of the line. This allows you to effortlessly carry large indicators with heavy or multiple nymphs and deliver them streched out to the target. A long rear taper provides the appropriate control and precision in the cast. Cortland's "High Float Technology" is particularly helpful in controlling drift, adding even more buoyancy to the tip of the fly line and ensuring that complex currents can be handled with ease. These excellent mending properties allow even longer and more natural drifts of your nymphs.  For even more control, especially in adverse lighting conditions, a lot of current or wind, the front part of the head was equipped with an orange hi-vis tip. Hence, you find the end of your fly line even faster and can also detect careful bites immediately in the line.

But also beyond nymph fishing the Cortland Indicator finds its use. For example, when streamer fishing and with somewhat bushier dry flies, the forward weighted taper comes in very handy. Especially for light swing fishing with streamers and wet flies the hi-vis tip can also come in handy. Roll casts succeed especially at short to medium distances very well thanks to the tuned front taper, so even in confined areas, the line works great.

In short, especially if you fish a lot with the nymph and are looking for a line with which you can cast both weighted nymphs and rigs well, while at the same time controlling the drift well and detecting bites directly, this line is just right for you.
