Monster Backing offers a fantastic price-performance-ratio! It’s 8-times round braided and extremely abrasion resistant. The slick surface doesn’t damage your fly rod even under maximum pressure. Monster quality, Made in Germany!
This backing can be used in both, fresh- and saltwater environments. We recommend the stronger diameters if you're chasing big predators like GT, Tarpon or Sailfish. The smallest diameter can be used as micro-backing, if there is not much space on your spool.
The diameter-strength-ratio of the Monster backing is just outstanding! And due to the smaller diameters you have a very direct contact to the fish, even if it changes direction quickly. If you’re looking for a backing that you can rely on ... don’t look any further!

Tip: To increase the optimum knot strength with very thin high performance backing, 'double' the backing in the knot, this doubles the surface area in the knot and increases the knot strength enormously. The resulting 'double loop' also has a positive effect, as the surface area is doubled when looping in and 'cutting in' is reduced.
