Filson Rugged Twill Original Briefcase 13L tan

Filson's first original Briefcase was launched in 1994, and is a good example of how a product that is loved by customers for its high quality and functionality should not simply be changed. The Briefcase remains Filson's best seller more than a quarter century later - a testament to the old-fashioned idea that if a thing is worth doing, it's worth doing right.

As with all Filson products, the Filson Rugged Twill Original Briefcase is made with extreme attention to durability. This, of course, requires that in addition to high-quality, thoughtful craftsmanship, only the best available materials are used for the briefcase. In this case, the focus is on Italian cowhide leather and the robust Rugged Twill, which is processed through high-quality stitching. The most seasoned and industrial Rugged Twill is a 2-ply and 3-ply body with exceptional abrasion and wear resistance, lightly waxed to keep valuables dry even after a small rain shower. The leather handles and straps are cut, burnished and edge-dyed from premium Italian vegetable-tanned cowhide. Each hide is slowly soaked in a special bark-tannin solution and "hot painted" with tallow and wax in the final stages. This environmentally friendly tanning process transforms cowhide into durable, pliable leather suitable for horse harness, saddlery, and just Filson letter cases. The heavy brass zipper is rustproof, virtually indestructible, and reinforced with premium Italian cowhide. All of this is sewn together with heavy-duty, cotton wrapped polyester thread to ensure the Briefcase will last for decades. Even the most inconspicuous corners of the Original Briefcase, such as the binding of the interior seams, are so thoughtfully crafted to a high standard that fraying of the seam is impossible. In addition, there is a double-layered bottom, which provides even more protection and abrasion resistance of the Original Twill Briefcase.

The Briefcase features two large interior pockets that can store tablets or smaller laptops, as well as several slotted pockets for pens or tools. The shoulder strap, made from premium Italian cowhide leather, is removable and adjustable and features a sliding shoulder pad for comfort even with heavier loads. The solid brass hardware is sand cast and stamped exclusively for Filson!

In short: The Filson Rugged Twill Original Briefcase is one of the highest quality briefcases on the market, whose design and materials have hardly changed since 1994. It convinces with a timeless design, but also with extremely high-quality workmanship and the best materials available. Long-term reports of decades of use and over a million air miles without significant wear and tear of the Original Filson Briefcase we like to believe!

About Filson:

Filson - Rugged quality for over 125 years. Born in 1850, C. C. Filson inherited the pioneering spirit and love of nature from his father. After establishing a settlement in Nebraska and moving across the country as a railway conductor, he moved to the small town of Seattle, Washington in the 1890s. There he started his own company and became the first go-to place for hundreds of gold diggers heading north during the gold rush of the late 19th century. Since then, the name 'Filson' has been synonymous with uncompromising quality and robust materials! And after the gold diggers, it was mainly hunters, anglers, sailors and miners who appreciated Filson's robust and comfortable outdoor clothing. And this has not changed until today!
