Product information "Einarsson "new" Invictus Fly Reel black"
The success story of the Invictus (Latin for “unconquerable”) continues! The latest generation of Einarsson’s high-end fly reel follows in the footsteps of its predecessor while adding numerous improvements: the design has been refined and modernized, unnecessary weight has been reduced, and line capacity has been increased. This makes the Invictus the perfect choice for both salmon and tropical anglers. In addition, the patented braking system that makes the Einarsson Invictus so unique has been further enhanced.
The patented Shock Absorbing Brake System (SAB) absorbs sudden movements during the fight and ensures that the drag starts up extremely smoothly when the fish strikes. This unique system essentially integrates a shock tippet directly into the drag, cushioning the impact of the strike and protecting the leader. From the first line pull to maximum drag power, resistance increases progressively with the applied force. This way, the reel supports you even more during the fight and reliably compensates for errors caused by excessive pressure on line or leader. The effect is particularly noticeable when salmon hit with their head or tail, or in tropical saltwater when powerful fish strike at high speed and tear line from the reel.
The distinctive, large drag knob of the Invictus sits perfectly in the hand and allows ultra-precise adjustment with 540° of control. A new clicker inside the robust housing provides a pleasant sound when retrieving or paying out line. And most importantly: the already impressive drag power has been further increased! The new Invictus therefore offers one of the strongest braking systems on the market – perfect for those who refuse to compromise during the fight.
As befits a salmon reel, the Invictus features a closed spool cage, allowing the use of thin monofilament running lines. The frame and spool are machined from premium 6061 T651 aircraft aluminum, ensuring maximum stability. For full saltwater resistance and additional durability, the Invictus is finished with a high-quality Type III anodization. This gives it a clear advantage over most fly reels on the market.
Our Recommendations:
- Invictus 8: The smallest model in the series. Perfect for single-handed rods in classes #7 to #9 as well as switch and shorter double-handed rods. Equally at home on salmon and sea trout rivers, the local coast for sea trout, or in tropical saltwater for bonefish & permit.
- Invictus 10: The true all-rounder with a wide range of applications – from heavy single-handed rods in class #10 (e.g., for pike or saltwater) to double-handed rods in classes #9 and #10. Provides enormous drag power for hard-fighting fish!
- Invictus 12: The powerhouse of the series, for both fresh and saltwater. Stops the strongest tropical predators on heavy single-handed rods and is the ideal match for powerful, longer double-handed rods in classes #9, #10 and beyond.
In short: we are thrilled that Einarsson has reintroduced the Invictus. These elegant reels have always been among our absolute favorites – and we are certain that every demanding fly angler will find in the Invictus a loyal companion for countless adventures on the water!
