Product information "ECHO 84-B single-handed fly rod"
The new ECHO 84-B fly rod should interest predator and streamer fans out there mightily. In particular, fly fishermen looking for a tight, slightly shorter rod to generate fast line speeds and cast bushy, bulky flies efficiently even in windy conditions will find what they're looking for with the ECHO 84-B!
The 84-B is Tim Rajeff's answer to the need for a rod that can cast big flies accurately in adverse conditions. The rod was developed with bass anglers in mind and has been extensively tested on smallmouth and largemouth bass. In this type of fishing, some really large flies have to be presented precisely in tight and inaccessible spots. And this is exactly what the rod can do excellently, which should not only please bass anglers, but predatory fish fans in general. Thanks to its length and action, the 84-B is also an excellent rod for fishing in small streams with streamers, in strong winds or from a boat. Quick line pick-up and retrieve with minimal empty casts make this rod the ultimate tool for all Predator species. The 84-B can also be used perfectly with intermediate or sinking lines.
The design of the rod also reflects this type of fishing. The deep olive-coloured blank with its crisp action is built with sturdy snake guides and tip-facing stripping guides with SiC inserts, which favours casting with thicker predator lines and supports a more aggressive double-pull casting style. The high-quality full-well cork handle and the robust aluminium reel seat with double lock nut round off the overall picture perfectly.
In short: A great addition to the ECHO rod line-up with an excellent price-performance ratio. The rod is characterised by the precise casting of large flies, even under the most adverse conditions - whether for local perch or peacock bass in the tropical jungle. We recommend a short tapered predator line with a more aggressive taper to maximise the benefits of the blank.
