Product information "Diamondback Generation IV Nymph Rod - Euro Nymph Fly Rod"

With the Generation IV Nymph, Diamondback presents a rod series specifically developed for the demands of modern Euro-nymphing. Designed by Joe Goodspeed, one of the leading minds in the field of Euro-nymphing, the series offers eight different models that cover all aspects of modern nymph fishing. His expertise is reflected in every aspect of the Generation IV – not only in the component selection but with every cast on the water.

The rods are characterized by a sophisticated action tailored for maximum control during casting, strike detection, and fighting fish. The sensitive tip provides direct feedback on bottom contact and subtle takes, while the powerful backbone ensures solid hooksets and control over strong fish. Notably, the blank's fast recovery speed enables precise casts and more direct handling – a crucial advantage in demanding waters.

The guide configuration is optimized for nymph fishing with long mono leaders: Three tightly spaced snake guides directly below the tip effectively prevent tangles and allow smooth leader flow. Lightweight titanium single-foot guides and a micro stripping guide positioned close to the handle complete the setup and contribute to the rod's low swing weight.

Diamondback breaks new ground with its grip design: In addition to traditional Flor-grade cork grips, models with modern carbon grips are also available. These not only look stylish but are especially lightweight and durable, transmitting vibrations directly from the blank into the hand. The blank’s matte finish prevents unwanted glare – ideal for spooky fish on clear days.

Whether you prefer delicate presentations with a #1 rod in crystal-clear mountain streams or are targeting large trout, hard-fighting barbel, or even sea-run salmonids with a powerful #6 or #7 – the Generation IV Nymph lineup, with a total of eight models, covers an extremely broad range and offers the right model for every experienced nymph angler.

A true all-rounder in the light range. Excels in ultra-light nymphing as well as finely tuned dry fly presentations. Especially suitable for small to medium-sized streams and rivers.

#3 in 10.0 ft.
The right choice when you frequently encounter larger fish or want to use heavier nymphs. An ideal all-around rod for small to mid-sized waters and strong enough for barbel and large trout. Perfect for multi-fly rigs, dry-dropper setups, or small jig streamers.

More length for better drift control – ideal for variable currents or long-distance drifts. Especially beneficial in technical situations and shallow rivers. Ideal for light single nymphs.

#2 in 10'7" ft.
When you want to combine maximum control and sensitivity. Versatile for medium to larger rivers, perfect for classic Euro-nymphing techniques or delicate dry flies on long leaders.

#3 in 10'7" ft.
The go-to rod for larger rivers and heavier nymph setups. Excels in deeper runs and when targeting structure. Ideal all-around rod for medium to large waters, strong enough for barbel and large trout. Perfect for multi-fly rigs, dry-dropper setups, or small jig streamers.

#6 in 10'7" ft.
For when you're targeting the big ones. Powerful yet sensitive – ideal for large trout, barbel, or sea-run salmonids with heavy flies. Also suitable for light streamers or indicator systems.

Maximum power for hard-fighting fish in strong currents. Whether it's big trout, huchen, steelhead, salmon, or sea trout – this rod delivers not only top-tier performance during the fight but also casts heavily weighted flies with ease. Despite its power, it remains precise and well-balanced – perfect for heavy nymph setups with or without indicators, streamers, or even shooting heads.
