Product information "Patagonia W's Downdrift Parka SMDB"
This timeless DownDrift Parka from Patagonia is hard to beat in terms of sustainability and thermal protection. The knee-length parka filled with 600 down offers the best protection against cold and icy winds in winter. Of course, the long cut and the hood, which can be adjusted closely to the head, contribute to this. However, if the hood is not needed, it can even be removed in a flash by a zipper. The front zipper also has a wind strip, so that nothing can whistle in at this point. This is ensured by additional press studs. The down chambers are generous, as well as stylish and functional, providing excellent insulation to the lightweight parka. The Patagonia DownDrift Parka is thus a great companion through the winter, whether in nature or at the Christmas market.
Also in terms of sustainability, the parka convinces in full. Because the outer material of this robust coat consists of 100% recycled NetPlus material and even the down in the diamond-shaped chambers consist of reclaimed down products. In addition, the fabrics are BlueSign certified and the product Fair Trade certified manufactured.
- NetPlus:
Our beloved oceans and habitat for many fish that are at the top of our anglers' list, like the GT or tarpon, are being choked by plastic waste. A full 8.8 million tons of plastic waste is estimated to be thrown into the oceans each year, and fishing nets are one of the most damaging forms of this waste. Around 650,000 animals become caught in these ghost nets every year. This makes the use of NetPlus materials in Patagonia's products more important. The NetPlus material is a recycled nylon material that is extracted from fishing nets that are no longer used. In extracting the NetPlus material, the company works closely with fishermen to keep or remove hundreds of tons of discarded nets from the ocean each year. The nets are sorted, cleaned and crushed in Chile and then processed into 100% recycled nylon pellets known as NetPlus. These pellets can then be made into molded plastic products, components or fibers and find a new sustainable use!
