We test: Guideline AURA Nymph Fly Reel – Perfection for Modern Euro Nymphing
With the Aura NYMPH, Guideline's new fly reel series is complete. The Aura Nymph from the Aura series of the same name differs from the other members of the family in a number of ways and we'd like to introduce you to it!
After just a short time, it was clear that the Aura is not just "a new reel", but a consistently well thought-out reel family in which design, technology and practice interlock perfectly. In this video, we share our impressions of the NYMPH model.
The "EURO" model from Guideline's Aura reel series
The Guideline AURA Euro Nymph fly reel was developed as an independent model within the AURA series and consistently adapted to the requirements of modern Euro nymph technology. It has an enlarged diameter combined with a narrower spool, a combination that enables extremely efficient line management and significantly reduces the risk of line stack. The result is a reel that offers maximum control over long, thin nymph leaders and optimises fine, direct fishing with contact.
Large arbour design - fast, efficient, modern
The large arbour design ensures extremely fast line pick-up. This is a real advantage, especially when the fish suddenly runs towards you or you need to pick up excess line quickly. The larger diameter of the Aura Nymph also ensures that the monofilament nymph lines have less of a memory effect. This is supported by the slight V-shape of the spool, which ensures that the line automatically winds up evenly and cleanly - and unwinds again during the fight without twisting

Narrow spools & optimised volume and weight
The deliberately narrow spool widths ensure even line lay and optimum control - even with thin Euro nymph lines. Despite the weight saving of the narrow spool with a diameter of 106 mm, care has been taken to ensure that the Aura EURO is heavier than the Aura #5/6 in order to keep the long nymph rods perfectly balanced at all times.

The design of the AURA Euro Nymph is strictly orientated towards functional perfection: the large arbor core enables fast line retraction and improves control during the fight.
