Stanley - Built For Life

Stanley thermos flasks from the USA are the measure of all things when it comes to keeping drinks hot or cold for a long time. With their iconic, timeless design and indestructible quality - and not least because of their 25-year warranty - they are a purchase for years and decades. And very popular with us fly fishers!

Stanley has a rich history of over 100 years. The traditional American company was founded by William Stanley Jr. who forever changed the way hot beverages were consumed. Back in 1913, he fused vacuum insulation and the strength of steel into a portable bottle, inventing the first all-steel vacuum flask - which we still know today. Since then, his vacuum flask has gone from concept to icon and has become an essential item for many, both in everyday life and on outdoor adventures. From daily coffee breaks to meals with friends in the great outdoors, Stanley's timeless and indestructible eating and drinking utensils are always with you! And with each passing year, the Stanley family grows to include new products that enrich our outdoor experience. From dawn to dusk and from the first coffee in the morning to a good sip at the end of an eventful day.

In our large Stanley product range you will find everything for long days on the fishing water and extended tours on the river, lake or coast. And with every Stanley product you also set a sign in terms of sustainability. Because all Stanley products are produced with the aim to accompany you for a lifetime.

Sustainability at Stanley

The most sustainable products are those that never need to be thrown away or replaced. That's why Stanley has been building durable and reusable bottles for over 100 years. All bottles are made from steel, which is one of the most recyclable materials in the world. This has made it possible to reduce the need for disposable products. And so, in the end, less ends up in the trash. That's something we fly fishers appreciate!

Stanley focuses on environment, health and safety throughout its supply chain and has always been committed to ethical manufacturing of its products. One of Stanley's main goals is to reduce its corporate footprint and produce products that last a lifetime.

Lifelong joy with your Stanley product

To ensure that you can use your Stanley products for a long time, we have put together some helpful tips for proper cleaning and care.

  • How do I get the best performance (hot/cold holding) from my Stanley vacuum flask?
To get the best performance from your Stanley bottle, you should pre-heat or pre-cool your bottle or mug. The easiest way to do this is with hot or cold tap water. Fill with water and let stand for five minutes. Then empty the bottle or mug and immediately fill it with your hot or cold beverage. Close the stopper or lid as quickly as possible to prevent heat loss.

  • Can I transport milk in my Stanley vacuum flask?
It is not recommended to place milk or dairy products in Stanley Vacuum Bottles or Food Jars for extended periods of time, as bacterial growth can occur at certain temperatures. Fermentation of food and beverages can also cause pressure to build up over time.

  • How should I clean my Stanley products?
On the bottom of your product you can check if it is dishwasher safe. If not, we recommend hand washing. Before the first use, you should wash your product. This is how you clean your Stanley Vacuum Flask, Food Jar or other food grade stainless steel products:

    1. Fill it with warm water and a mild detergent.

    2. Waitfor five minutes.

    3. Wash off with a soft, damp cloth or sponge.

    4. Rinse and dry with a clean towel.

    5. Your Stanley product may occasionally need a deep clean. To do this, we recommend soaking a mixture of one part baking soda and one part warm water for up to one hour. After rinsing this mixture, you can clean your product with a mild detergent. And very importantly, be sure to use a soft brush to clean your Stanley Vacuum Flask or Food Jar. Please do not use a metal brush as it may scratch the stainless steel surfaces.

To thoroughly clean the gasket, we recommend soaking the top of the cup in white vinegar, lemon juice or a mixture of warm water and baking soda. For some products, the gasket or seal can be carefully removed with a small tool or instrument and soaked separately.

To remove stains or odors, we recommend washing with warm water and a standard, non-abrasive household cleaner. These cleaners can be used with bristle brushes, sponges or clean cloths. Soaking the product in a mixture of warm water and baking soda can also help. Soaking in white vinegar or lemon juice can also remove stains and odors. After using cleaning products, always wash your Stanley product thoroughly (as explained above). For stainless steel products, a stainless steel cleaner or polish can also be used.

The vast majority of Stanley products are made of 18/8 stainless steel. Even with products where stainless steel is not the primary housing material, stainless steel may be present in the hinges, handles and other locations. For this reason, it is not recommended to place Stanley products in the microwave. Doing so may result in damage to the product (and the electronic device). It is also not advisable to place any of the Stanley products in the freezer. This is because liquids expand when they freeze, and your bottle will not return to its original shape. The expansion of the liquid can cause damage to your product, affecting its functionality, thermal and sealing.
